For over 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving Bert Jabin Yacht Yard —and I don’t say this lightly: they are among the most professionally run yards in my entire repertoire.
From the front office staff, to the yard crew, to Rod Jabin himself—BJYY sets the standard for what excellence looks like in this industry. It’s not just what they do… it’s how they do it. Consistency. Precision. Pride in their work. Every. Single. Day.
I’m proud to serve BJYY customers because I know they expect the best—and that aligns perfectly with how I run my own business.
So it came as no surprise (but absolutely well deserved) to see them recently recognized by Dragonfly Trimarans Northeast. When a company with decades of global experience says “no other yard comes close”—that says everything.
Since 1959, BJYY has grown from a simple plot on Back Creek into one of Annapolis’ premier full-service marinas—home to over 200 slips, a top-tier high & dry operation, and more than 25 marine service providers. But what truly sets them apart isn’t size—it’s their unwavering commitment to customer service, operational excellence, and environmental stewardship as a Certified Clean Marina.
They don’t just maintain boats.
They take care of people, teams, and the boating lifestyle we all love.
And I’m proud to be part of that ecosystem.

Just wanted to say thank you for another smooth boat haul out from you and the team there at Bert Jabin. We truly appreciate working with you all.

Got hauled out here the other day, maybe the 30th haul out for me with a big boat and this is the first place that’s inspired me to leave a review. This is the most professionally run Yacht yard I’ve ever seen. The dock crew really knows what they’re doing, the grounds are immaculate, security is great, office staff responsive, owner and son watching everything, what more could you want, definitely going back.

I am new (2025/2026) to the Chesapeake area and have decided to make Jabin Yacht Yard my floating home away from home. The marina is clean, well maintained and staffed by skilled professionals. Rod Jabin is a wonderful ambassador for the yard. DJ (dock manager) and the front office staff made it easy to ‘move in.’

Professionally maintained. Easy access to the bay. Clean and comfortable. Small store and bathrooms and laundry available.
Bill W.
Most professional yard on the bay.
Paul J.
Very neat, professional and helpful.

I’m an experienced delivery skipper. I see a lot of yards and marinas. I don’t give out five stars lightly. Bert Jabin’s Yacht Yard is definitely deserving.
Rod Jabin, son of founder the late Bert, has been running BJYY for years. The caliber of his staff, skills, and attitudes speak to his leadership. Everyone I have dealt with from dockhands to Rod have been laser focused on customer service.
One interesting thing about Jabin’s is that they have picked their lane and stay in it. There are a lot of on-site service providers. BJYY focuses on slips, haul-out, dry stacks, and associated functions. Pretty much anything else you need is available but the yard itself provides the infrastructure.
It’s fantastic infrastructure.
Reasonable walking distance to groceries, West Marine, Fawcett, and True Value. Nearby Rocco’s Pizza delivers to boats. On-site cafe for breakfast and lunch. UPDATE 7/15/2025
Today the engine on a boat I was delivering overheated. While waiting for SeaTow I called Jabin’s for space to get serviced. They got us a place. Dockmaster DJ and team of dockhands met us in Back Creek and took over from the towboat and moved us with platinum level professionalism into our slip, even arranging the fenders. While this may seem trivial, all the cleat hitches were properly made and solid clove hitches on the fender whips. There aren’t many places where I completely trust the dock crew the way I do at Bert Jabin’s Yacht Yard.
I am a fan.

I grew up in Annapolis sailing at AYC. I had a small Shamrock at your marina in the boatel back in 2014/2015. Recently we purchased a 2025 Leopard 46 Catamaran and have sailed over 2000 ocean miles in 4 months!
Since the boat was new, we began to develop warranty issues. Nate Horton came in April and was fantastic. Since then, we have been unable to get anyone to come to the boat on the mooring ball due to extraordinary demand on the yacht yards. I called outfits in southern Maryland, south county , eastern shore and Pasadena looking for mobile marine experts. No one could come or even knew some of the systems on our boat.
After today, I realize that all of the marine superstars on the east coast are at operating out of Jabins Yacht Yard. I am not joking. Between Horton Marine Services and M Yachts….(Jim, Ted, Nate, Drew, Bill and Matt). I was blown away!
In total, 7 folks on your yard assisted us. I have nicknamed them the “Nautical Ninjas” bc they show up quietly, get on your vessel and go to work! Whaaa-laa…..3-4 hours later ALL 10 items that I spent months trying to get fixed through Leopard’s technical teams were handled. I was left stunned (since I could not get help in any of the other East Coast ports I was in and Leopard (located in Ft Lauderdale FL) was unable to help me locate or fix anything over the phone!
DJ and Tracy totally made this entire repair operation possible by getting us in with 24 hours notice and helping us dock the boat.
Your group fires on all cylinders (dockmaster, administrative, financial, technical, mechanical and rigging). I still can’t believe it.
Thank you so much! We really appreciate all of you!
Most sincerely,
Margaret Rose Evans Cox
